AMAZING OLD VINTAGE WESTERN AMERICAN. STERLING SILVER SIGNED CARLOS SILVER. BUTTERFLY BELT & SCARF BUCKLE. This old antique western American sterling silver matching belt and sash or scarf buckle set is being offered in true vintage condition with a beautiful naturally aged patina. The bronze or brass butterflies are slightly raised above the main buckle surface to give a 3-D effect. We estimate the era to be 1970's to 1980's and the Carlos Silver brand is from Roseville, California, USA. I met the owner-artist-silversmith of this company at the Cowboy Christmas show in Las Vegas some years back and he was very interesting, personable and kind to me... We discussed buckles and his methods of creating these little works of art at length.. And that is exactly what his creations are, little works of art. The belt buckle measures about 3" x 2 3/4" and fits belts up to 1 1/2 wide. The scarf buckle measures 1 1/2" round and has a clasp opening of 1". The total weight of this set is 55 grams or 2 ounces.
