VERY RARE BRAND HISTORIC CA. 1940's STERLING SILVER & 10 KARAT GOLD RAISED & ENGRAVED ACCENTS TROPHY STYLE BELT BUCKLE HALLMARKED BY THE MAKER GREEN- K. - The previous owner of this belt buckle explained to us that he believed it was from a 1940's renewal of the American Royal Rodeo in Kansas City, Missouri.
The raised image at the center does resemble the emblem of that rodeo but we are not certain of the buckle's exact origin. We have never come across another buckle by this maker or in this style. All of the accents and symbols are raised above the main buckle surface and most of them were hand engraved. The large circle and corner vine accents are 10 karat gold. It was lightly engraved with a previous owners name inside the gold circle.
The condition is very good vintage showing below average signs of use and only light tarnish. Hallmarked on the back, GREEN- K. The dimensions are 2 5/8" x 1 3/4", fitting belts up to 1 3/8 wide, and weighing about 50 grams or 1.8 ounces on our scale. We have HUNDREDS of additional very rare old western belt buckles listed for sale.
