Rare Antique Vintage Signed AMS Mexico Sterling Silver Gold Longhorn Belt Buckle
OLD MID 20th CENTURY ANTIQUE VINTAGE PRE-OWNED & NATURALLY AGED STERLING SILVER LONGHORN STEER WITH GOLD TONED ACCENTS BELT BUCKLE SIGNED BY THE MAKER "AMS"-- This very old Mexican sterling silver cowboy style belt buckle is being offered in as-worn condition with a naturally aged finish. It shows minor tarnish and signs of use, as would be expected on a 60+ year old sterling silver item. The 4 floral accents appear to have a gold toned finish...
They might be gold filled or heavy gold plated, but we have not tested them for metal content so that is just our estimate. It is an older antique style moderate sized buckle that measures 2 5/8" x 1 1/8", fits belts up to 1 wide, and weighs about 30 grams or just over one ounce on our scale. NOTE-- We believe the Longhorn did have gems or stones for eyes at one time. They must have been lost somewhere along the trail!!
