VERY RARE AUTHENTIC 1974 TRIPLE CROWN FUTURITY OKLAHOMA DIVISION HORSE RACE FROM LA MESA PARK WINNING JOCKEY'S STERLING SILVER TROPHY BELT BUCKLE- This 50 year old sterling silver trophy buckle is being offered in true vintage condition with a naturally aged patina and the normal minor signs of use and tarnish that would be expected on a 1974 belt buckle. La Mesa Park was a thoroughbred and quarter horse race track located in Raton, New Mexico. It was the first horse racing park in New Mexico and operated between 1946 and 1992. This sterling buckle was awarded to the jockey that won the FUTURITY horse race there in 1974.
The buckle still works perfectly on a belt and although we think the natural appearance is awesome, this buckle could be cleaned & polished to look newer and shine brighter if you'd prefer that look. It measures about 4" x 2 1/2", fits belts up to 1 1/2 wide and weighs about 3 ounces. We have MANY additional rare & collectible western American & rodeo belt buckles for sale.
